Georgia does not want to restore relations with the United States at any cost – ruling party MP

Tbilisi wants to restore relations with Washington exclusively on the basis of mutual respect and justice, according to Georgian officials.
Georgia does not want to restore strategic relations with the United States at any cost, but only on the basis of respect and justice, according to Levan Makhashvili, head of the European Integration Committee in the Georgian Parliament.
A delegation from the Georgian Parliament has traveled to the United States to participate in the Alliance of Sovereign Nations conference, which will take place on March 4-5.
“We do not want to restore relations at any cost, otherwise it would have happened earlier. We only want to do so on the basis of mutual respect and justice. In this case, the recent developments give us hope that we will be able to do this in the near future,” said Makhashvili.

According to him, Georgia views the visit to the United States as another good step towards restoring relations. The politician also noted that the country is willing to wait as long as necessary to restore relations on its own terms.
